Our Mission & Team
We believe there is a longing within every individual to overcome the trials, pains, and difficulties of life.
Our mission is to encourage a broken world and offer hope to overcome through Jesus Christ. We believe there is a longing within every individual to overcome the trials, pains and difficulties of life. We believe that longing is answered and fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.
With a vision to establish individuals to be overcomers in Christ, the family and friends of Bethany Hamilton, a world-class professional surfer who lost her arm to a shark bite at the age of 13, formed the Beautifully Flawed Foundation a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 32-0220098).
Jesus said, “In the world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Our Core Values
The core values of the Beautifully Flawed Foundation reflect a deep commitment to faith, compassion, and personal growth. They emphasize caring for those in need, honoring each person as uniquely created by God, and empowering individuals holistically: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Your Giving is Bringing Hope and Changing Lives
Our mission and programs would not be possible without the financial generosity of our community. Young women and men who’ve experienced traumatic limb loss and limb difference are finding belonging, community, and the hope that overcoming is possible through Jesus — that’s all because of your faithful giving. Mahalo for your support and partnership!
